Jottings

We have been writing jottings in Room 9.

Each morning we talk about a particular theme (or do something to spark ideas) then we listen to classical music while we write something related to the theme. We only get 5-10 minutes to write our jotting.

We can choose to do any type of writing: prose or poetry, humourous or serious pieces,  even raps.

Mrs Fawbert has to write something too!

Then we all share back what we have written.

Today we smelt cloves and cumin seeds to spark ideas, these are some great samples of jottings from Mico and Michael:

It smells like honey,
It smells like cinnamon,
And it tastes good,
It smells like raisins.

by Mico

My one smells like people smoking in an abandoned house, and it smells like the smoke from a motorbike.

  1. Fabulous writing... I love the way you have used senses to help with your descriptions.
